My book review- We won an island by Charlotte Lo

This is a fictional book about a family who are going to get evicted.

I love how it's a great story but it's also funny.

I read this book quite quickly as it was so enjoyable.

My favourite character was the main girl.

I would give this book an 8.5 out of 10 because it was an excellent story.

My book review -The Unadoptables - Hana Tooke

This is a fiction book about a group of kids who are given to the orphanage, they were left in a completely different way.  They are too old to be adopted seperately and a bad man tries to adopt them to make them do chores for him. The story is about bravery and fighting back.
I love the characters and the plot twists and everything about the book, without giving too much away. The story gets more exciting the more you read. My favourite character is the owl called Mozart.
The book is hard back with a cover on, it is beautifully illustrated and underneath the cover has even more details, a hidden surprise.
This book is 10/10, it is amazing. The story, characters, plot twists, I just couldn't put it down.
I have only ever given Harry Potter 10/10, so this shows how much I enjoyed reading it and hope there are more books from Hana to come.

My book review on - Gargantis (The Legends of Eerie-on-sea) by Thomas Taylor

If you have read Malamander you will love Gargantis, as this is the second book in the series.
This book is about a boy called Herbie and a girl called Violet and what life is like for them.
This is a Fictional story full of plot twists. I loved the characters and I especially loved the cliff hangers, without spoiling it further.

I have given this book a 8/10 because I really enjoyed it and if you loved Malamander the first book as much as I did, you will really enjoy reading this as it is just as good as the first book.

My book review on - So you want to be an owl by Jane Porter

This is a fabulous book about an owl school and learning about being an owl.
I learned a lot about being an owl from it, including how owls live. I liked all of the facts about owls and how it's also funny at times in the bubbles. This book is a picture book with amazing illustrations suitable for any age and I would highly recommend it as you learn lots and its got cute owls and glasses in. I was expecting this book to be a story but to my surprise and delight I found an amazing fact book.

I would give this book 9/10

My book review on - Time school - We will honour them by Nikki Young

Time school is an amazing book, it is about a group of friends who take a train and end up travelling back in time and learn about Nadia's Polish Grandfather and what it was like for refugees. I really enjoyed reading it. I would highly recommend reading this book. Time school is a great book about time travel, love and friendship and it has an amazing ending.

I found this book really easy to read and it's short chapters made you read about half the book in one go, each chapter was as exciting as the last. The characters were amazing and you could tell they were best friends and would be for a very long time, each character was brilliant in their own way.

I would give this book an 8.5 because it was an excellent story and easy to read and I enjoyed reading it.

My book review on - The Siege of Caerlverock by Barbara Henderson

This is a book based in the year 1300 about a girl called Ada who is a strong and brave 12 year old girl, who becomes best friends with an 8 year old boy called Godfrey. This book is about a historic castle and what happens when there was a war in the olden days and about how badly people, prisoners and servants were treated. It is a story that shows friendship and bravery and the characters fight for what they believe is right and are very heroic.
Not only is this book exciting but it is also action packed. It features lots of historic references using different terminology for things, so if you love history you will love this book.

I think this is an interesting book and I would definitely like to visit the location now after reading this book.

I would rate this book 7.5 only due to there being some difficult words. There is a reference guide to these words at the back which is helpful for some of them. It's the first type of book that I have read with older words. Thank you for letting me experience this.

I lent this book to my Grandma and she said, "The book gripped me from the first chapter and I wanted to read more. Ada and Godfrey were exceptional children, Brave and older than their years. They just wanted to do the right thing and help others. The story was exiting throughout and historical as well ".

Overall I would recommend this book.

My book review on -The story of Babushka by Catherine Flores

This book is hard backed and beautifully illustrated.

This story is about five Russian dolls who go on an adventure and learn what it is like to be separated, which reflects on the value of friendship and love and not wealth and appearances. It is brilliant and I would definitely recommend any age to buy and read this book. I could see this as being the next well known fairy-tale, read by young people and adults for many many years to come to each other.

I would give this book an 8.5 out of 10. This story would have got a 9 but it was just due to the book length, as aimed as a younger children's book.

There is a beautiful website as well to go onto that explains the characters and book.

My book review on- Secrets of a Sun King by Emma Carroll

Secrets of a Sun King is an amazing story and it teaches you a lot about Egypt and Egyptians, so if you love history and a good story then I would definitely recommend this book. I learned loads from this book and you will to.

Lilian is an amazing character. I would still read this book even if you do not like history because I am not really into history, but ended up loving learning about the Egyptians after reading this book.

If I had to rate this book,

I would give it an 8 out of 10.

My book review on - The Star-Spun Web by Sinead O'hart

This was an amazing book and I like that one of the characters has glasses and not many characters have glasses.

I love all the plot twists and hope there is a second book. This is a very different book then the ones I have read before but I loved it.

Tess is very kind and always perseveres. I love Tess as a person and also love her because she wears glasses. Tess has a pet spider and it is called violet.

Tess was left an object. What could it be? this book has a very exiting ending and definitely worth reading.
